| These are some of the photos
from the tour through Europe that Ray Wylie Hubbard, Lloyd Maines
and myself went on. We met many new friends with our music. The people
there are knowledgeable about Texas roots music and we were made to
feel very welcome. A couple of times we had to drive. Ray held the
steering wheel, Lloyd drove from the backseat (smile) and I screamed
a lot (we almost died a few times). I jumped out and got directions...cause
I lost our compass. Many thanks to the CRS family (Bert, and Bert, Maikka and Paul), for inviting us to Europe and taking such good care of us. |
![]() 12 Bar Club in London: This place was located down beneath a huge historic building. I felt like we were playing in a cave. There was a ground level and a balcony that held the audience. Hmmmmnnn.. good Guiness. |
![]() We taped for the BBC in London. This picture was taken in their studio. |
![]() Lloyd at his favorite hotel in Den Haag. It reminded him of four star hotels in Lubbock. |
![]() Here I am smiling with the birds in Trafalger Square in London. |
![]() They scared me. I ain't smilin' anymore. I had poop all over me and vowed to never feed the birds while in London again. I mean, give me a break, they pooped on my Bulls cap. |
![]() Lloyd at church in Brussels. |
![]() Me and the Bobbies in London. |
![]() The cab reads "You can be in fifty places at one time." We rode to our show in this cab and it was pouring down rain. Our cabbie was a great driver on those crowded London streets. |
![]() This is a photo of our audience at "Happy Days" Joanna booked us into this venue. The folks on the front row are wearing Willie Nelson, Waterloo Records, and Luckenbach t-shirts. When Ray sang "Red Neck Mother" the place came unglued. I love to watch music unite people of all race, color and nationality. |
![]() A typical yard in Den Haag. No matter what the house looked like the yard would be beautiful and well kept. |
![]() Lloyd's head at the 12 Bar. I tried to get a photo of what the stage looked like from the balcony. I never said I was Ansel Adams (smile) |
![]() Henry the VIII. King Butt. The Tower of London was amazing. |
![]() Ray Wylie knows right where we are. (smile) |
![]() Popular quote of the tour. |
![]() This gal was something else. She was a mime artist in London. Captivating and my favorite part of the entire trip. |
![]() Lloyd in front of the oldest pub in London. Hmmmm... good Guiness. No Lonestar (sad) |
![]() You gotta pull your own weight. This became harder as I became addicted to the Milka candybars that members of the audience would bring me at the shows. |
![]() Joanna (far left) (Happy Days) made us a feast to eat before our show. Here she is with Lloyd, Ray, and her family. |
![]() A famous sculpture in Brussels is the "Peeing boy" Here we are in front of this historic monument and I am sporting my new t-shirt of the wonder given to me by my new European friends. |
![]() Here we are all serious before a photo shoot at the BBC. |
![]() Me and Ray eating Belgian waffles from Belgium. .... When in Rome do like the.... Belgians. |
