Hendrix March 2006 GoatNotes

Hi there folks and happy Spring!

Just a quick update on what we've been up to in Wilory world:

Over the past month, we've begun working "Fair," "Gravity," "Joy or Sorrow" and other songs we haven't done in a while back into our live show. And some of our staples have a few new surprises, too: Lloyd's been working up old and new tunes of ours on his pedal steel, and I've worked my lower lip into a blistered state due to my renewed passion for playing harmonica. It's been a blast, but ... I have had to ease up on my favorite shade of lipstick while playing, because "Shimmery Shell" clogs up the reeds and gets all over my face.

In other news, I've learned and am now using a new database and template for my monthly newsletters — snappy, eh? And, I've jumped into the bottomless world of MySpace; you can find me there at http://www.myspace.com/terrihendrixmusic. We also taped a session of "Eklektikos" on Austin's KUT, which has been archived as a RealPlayer stream at http://www.kut.org (scroll down the "Program Links" on the site to "Eklektikos.")

Oh ... and my newly adopted dog, Buddy — long story — snatched a pair of my underwear from my laundry basket, bolted out the doggie door, and before I could catch him, swallowed them whole. Needless to say, when I was supposed to be writing my GoatNotes, I was on the phone with Pet Emergency services attempting to understand the damages that consuming a pair of Hanes Her Way could inflict on a mutt's digestive system. The next day, I dropped Buddy off at the vet, and a few hours later got word that everything was going to be OK, as he'd just regurgitated my undies in front of the entire veterinary staff. A few days later, when I picked Buddy up from the vet (I'd been on the road), I was greeted by a chorus of giggles. That's when I learned that, during his ordeal, my mutt's cage had proudly displayed a sign that read, "Please monitor Buddy for a large pair of Terri Hendrix's underwear." Friends, I know this sounds like "the dog ate my homework" and that's why my assignment's not in. Butt (punn intended), it's definately a true story.

ISP Issues:
Make sure your e-mail is set so that it accepts my e-mails to you. If it's not, there could be a day when you won't receive them as ISPs are tightening the reigns on what your inbox receives to ward off Spam. If you change e-mail, please let us know your new address at terri@terrihendrix.com so we can change your info in our shiny new database.

Please spread the word by forwarding this email to your friends. Word of mouth is what keeps me able to continue doing what I do for my living. It's our hope to reach and inspire all who attend one of our shows. So, tell your friends to come meet us out on the road!

Happy Trails,
Terri Hendrix
