Harvest

The process or period of gathering in crops.

Synonyms: harvesting, reaping, picking, collecting

"We all helped with the harvest"

I started writing songs in the 4th grade, and never stopped. I don't just love to write, I live to write. My purpose with this series is to use writing to empower, ignite the creative process, and use our creativity to enhance our quality of life.

Our songwriting and creativity changes just like the seasons. As we mature, it's important to recognize this and allow our creativity to evolve — wrinkles and all. It's never too late to learn to write a song or play an instrument — if that's what you want to do. Even if you've written your entire life, these workshops are designed to take your writing and music to unchartered territory.

"Harvest" is built around gathering our life's experiences and turning them into song. Both individually and collectively, we will write, share, and perform our songs (recite lyrics if you do not play an instrument) in a pressure and judgment-free safe zone.

If you've never played guitar and want to learn, these classes are for you, too. You don't have to play an instrument to attend.

Performance opportunities will be addressed and discussed for those that desire to perform.

Ticket price for women's groups also includes creative jump start tool kit, handouts, journal, non-alcoholic beverages, pastries, a healthy lunch, and a wrap up and "wine" down with complimentary Texas wines, crackers, and assorted cheeses.

The music business class includes handouts, non-alcoholic beverages, pastries, and snacks.

In the end, "Harvest" will do exactly what the name suggests. We've done the living, now it's time to turn our life's experiences into song and reap the rewards!

Live it. Write it. Play it.

P.S. I've been navigating my own path and running my own record label since 1996. Just like my playing and writing, every year I strive to learn something new and better myself. This goes with "The Part That Ain't Art," too. The music business can be fun. I've added the Harvest Music Business Workshop to convince you! Scroll down for information and tickets.
